I am a Clinical Psychologist, licensed to practice psychology in New York State and Ohio. I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Psychology, and am certified in tele-mental health. I completed my APPIC pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Center in Salt Lake City, working with very young children and their families. I also completed two post-doctoral experiences, one year under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist in private practice, and one year in a community mental health center. My doctoral dissertation was an original study on PTSD and attachment, and my Master’s thesis was a literature review on PTSD in children.
I am highly knowledgeable about issues that affect children and can help people better understand these issues and effectively respond to their children’s challenges and meet their needs. I have worked with many children in various settings over the years, including children with trauma and attachment issues. I developed an interest in children with these issues when I realized that I had an ability to get them to bond with me when they would not bond with other adults, and noticed that their behavior then improved. I share my knowledge through my writing (including my ebook on Amazon) and consultation.
I am also a pianist. I was classically trained through the Royal Conservatory of Music, which is a Canada-wide method of piano training through the University of Toronto. I enjoy playing relaxing piano music, and especially appreciate the musical styles of musicians such as Jim Brickman, Josh Groban, Yiruma, Enya, and others. I have written several piano compositions, and am in the process of preparing concerts that combine peaceful piano music with inspirational speaking.
