Foster and adopted children commonly have multiple problems that make them challenging to connect with and help. Severe behaviors can seem to come out of nowhere, causing stress and chaos in the family. Traditional parenting techniques often do not work, and parents can find themselves frustrated and unsure of what to do.

Foster and adopted children often need a different approach than “typical” children. I can help you understand why children with trauma and disrupted attachment histories have  these challenging behaviors, and I provide practical ideas for how you can intervene in ways that work.

The more you understand your child’s issues, the better position you are in to respond effectively to meet your child’s needs and change challenging behaviors into more positive behaviors.

Please Note: Consultation is not a substitute for mental health treatment. It is an add-on to other services your child and/or you may be receiving.

Cost and How to Schedule a Consultation Session

To schedule a session or ask questions about the process, please contact me. I offer a free 20-minute initial consult so I can get an idea of what you need and if we would like to work together. I will send you paperwork that needs to be completed prior to our first session together. After I receive your completed paperwork, I will send you a PayPal request. When I have received your payment, I will email you several available appointment times and you can choose the day/time that works best for you. Each session is 50 minutes and costs $220. Please note that the session fee is self-pay only and is not reimbursable by insurance companies.

Please email me at or call me at (917) 577-4981 or (716) 271-1334.

Please note: Due to current licensure regulations, I can only provide consultation services to residents of New York State and Ohio.
